More Jobs and High Value Job Creation
Most will agree that a job is more than a monetary source, it helps to fulfil an innate human drive of purpose. Right now, no-one can say that there are enough jobs in Peterborough: It doesn’t matter if your aspirations are to be a Managing Director or a part-time cleaner to fit into your family life. If the positions are not available, you cannot work.
With the country slowly fighting its way out of recession now is the time to promote the opportunities Peterborough can offer to new and relocating businesses.
- An excellent road system with links to every part of the country and the port of Felixstowe.
- Less than an hour from central London.
- A willing and available workforce.
- Prime sites ready for redevelopment or vacant lots awaiting new tenants.
- Should the Council be willing, then we could also offer reduced business rates to attract companies to the city.

Think of the benefits that
would come with more jobs available in the city – more money spent on the High
Street, a feeling of civic pride as people are working, have money and have a
feeling of self-worth, success breeding success with more people and companies
wanting to move here as it becomes a thriving City of the twenty-first century.

What do we need to do to
get the ball rolling and what can you do to help?
Andrew Tucker, one of the founders of Growborough, went on to explain some of the aims of the new enterprise.
He said: "We need to create a new identity built on the historic buildings and top 10 tourist destinations that are our magnificent cathedral and world class transport infrastructure represent, people do not realise just how well linked Peterborough is."
Rowen Squibb added “Peterborough has so much value that can be built upon, but without an understanding of the resources our city has to offer there can be no sustainable growth. Before any development can succeed the city needs to recognize its strengths and primarily build upon them.”
